Graded 20 Fair 1.5 by SGC. By the age of 21, Ty Cobb had already established himself as a dominating force in the American League. His premier status is confirmed on this 1907 Ty Cobb Detroit Seamless Steel Tubes postcard. The only such correspondence piece judged by SGC, the youthful Georgian is viewed in full uniform with his trusty bat and glove. Beneath the image is a brief biography and advertisement for the Michigan company. Interestingly, this keepsake is postmarked from Detroit just three days prior to Cobb playing in his first World Series contest. The typed name of the addressee, slight surface discoloration, postmarkings, which protrude the obverse to the right of Cobb, and negligible creasing accounts for the technical assessment.
